Old technologies, new practices

Co-development session

Friday, August 18, 2-6pm and Saturday, August 19, 2-6pm
Vidéographe, 4550 Rue Garnier

Free entry

Vidéographe invites its members and the community to discover and explore the center’s technological artifacts on August 18 and 19.

Since its creation in 1971, Vidéographe has provided its members with the technical equipment they need to produce their work, resulting in an underestimated collection of technological artifacts. Many need repair, while others are perfectly functional. Either way, they present an unprecedented opportunity to discover the technological history of video as well as experiment with old equipment. At this upcoming Artifact Exploration Workshop, we invite members to discover and experiment with these objects.

We welcome people with current or previous technical expertise as well as those who are completely new to analog video. We hope to hear and share stories about the uses of these tools in the past and their potential use today.

► To RSVP or find out more, contact Sam Meech at technique@videographe.org.
