The Vidéographe Tuesdays series concludes with the screening of the documentaries Le rêve d’Ida and The Delian Mode on August 30 at the Cinéma Moderne.
Frédéric Dallaire’s and Kara Blake’s works follow the musicians Ida Toninato and Delia Derbyshire, respectively, to capture unheard-of sound moments and reflect on the various creative processes that nourish our relationship with the world.
After the screening, enjoy a drink with the artists to continue the magic.
The works will be presented with closed captioning and an LSQ interpreter will also be present to accompany the discussion.

Le rêve d’Ida de Frédéric Dallaire
SYNOPSIS
The musician Ida Toninato plays the baritone saxophone in reverberated places : from the ship’s hold to the cathedral to a huge concrete building, she explores the musicality of people and spaces.
The Delian Mode de Kara Blake
SYNOPSIS
A creative documentary exploring the life and work of electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire; the woman behind the distinctive Doctor Who theme music created at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in the early 1960’s.

Frédéric Dallaire
Frédéric Dallaire prépare un doctorat sur le son au cinéma, matière qu’il enseigne également depuis plusieurs années. Il a réalisé quelques courts-métrages dont Douche froide (2005) et L’invention du quotidien (2004). Il vit à Montréal.Frédéric Dallaire is completing a doctorate on sound in cinema, a subject he has taught for few years. He has directed several short films: Douche froide (2005) and L’invention du quotidien (2004). He lives in Montreal.
